Seven-time Bathurst 1000 winner Craig Lowndes has been confirmed alongside factory Porsche teammates Earl Bamber and Laurens Vanthoor in a Meguiar’s liveried 911 GT3 R for the 2020 Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour.

Supercars legend Lowndes, who won the 12 Hour in a Ferrari in 2014, will return to Mount Panorama for another assault on the once-round-the-clock classic.

Lowndes finished fourth from 19th on the grid in the 2019 race, which saw Matt Campbell star to lead the Earl Bamber Motorsport entry to victory.

F1 2020: Sebastian Vettel negotiating with Racing Point Aston Martin

Published

on

Sebastian Vettel has reportedly started negotiations with Racing Point Aston Martin with the veteran driver now committed to racing on in 2021.

Vettel was the odd-man out when negotiations with Ferrari broke down earlier this year, resulting in the team announcing Carlos Sainz would partner rising star Charles Leclerc beyond the 2020 season.

It started the biggest driver shake-up Formula 1 has seen in years — and there is still more contract chaos to play out.

According to Germany’s Bild newspaper, Vettel and Racing Point are deep in negotiations, despite the team already having long-term contract agreements with driver pairing Lance Stroll and Sergio Perez.

Stroll’s father Lawrence owns the Racing Point team and is reportedly certain to keep his seat — leaving Perez facing the likelihood of being forced out, despite having multiple years still to run on his contract.

F1 2020: Valtteri Bottas gives driver’s the finger in Styrian Grand Prix

Published

on

Formula 1 star Valtteri Bottas was spotted flipping the bird to rival driver’s as he helped Mercedes to a one-two finish at the Styrian Grand Prix.

Cameras captured the moment the Mercedes driver lost his cool late in the race on Sunday night (AEST) as he tried to catch up to teammate and race-winner Lewis Hamilton.

Bottas lapped a whopping nine drivers during the race with just six drivers able to keep on the same lap as the red-hot Mercedes duo.

Championship rivals Ferrari suffered the humiliation of having Sebastian Vettel and Charles Leclerc ending their races after only a handful of laps following contact between the two teammates.
