A-League: Brisbane Roar’s Henrique scores only goal of game in win over Mariners

UPDATE: HENRIQUE’S first Roar goal for almost two years has proved enough at Suncorp Stadium as Brisbane maintained their push for finals football with a 1-0 win over Central Coast Mariners on Saturday night.

The Roar’s top-six destiny remains in their own hands after their ninth win of the season.

Starting for Brisbane for the first time since returning to the club in February, Henrique’s inclusion from the opening whistle paid immediate dividends for the Roar.

The Brazilian-Australian livewire put Brisbane ahead in the 13th minute with his first goal for the club since April 3, 2016.

Round 25

His calm finish after being found by French teammate Eric Bautheac was met with elation by the crowd of 12,019, the Roar’s biggest home attendance of the season.
