BARCA EYE SHAW
Barcelona are reportedly interested in a move for Manchester United fullback Luke Shaw, according to The Mirror.
Jose Mourinho’s treatment of the 22-year-old has been labelled ‘bullying’ by some, amid reports of a training ground bust-up between the pair as the boss hauled the left back off after just 45 minutes in an FA Cup quarter final against Brighton.
The Spanish giants are ready to capitalise on Shaw’s tenuous situation at Old Trafford, with the young defender on their radar as they look to sign a new fullback.
French international Lucas Digne has been the understudy to first choice left back Jordi Alba this season, but the Frenchman could leave the club in search of more regular minutes, opening the door for a move for the England international.
Barca believe Shaw’s signing would be good business, although have also been linked with Bayern’s David Alaba.
REDS TARGET CAN LEAVE
Liverpool are reportedly on red alert after transfer target Dani Ceballos was told he could leave Real Madrid in the summer, according to Mundo Deportivo.
The 21-year-old only joined Real in July but has struggled for game time in Madrid and is allegedly now allowed to seek a move elsewhere.
The Reds will have to contend with the likes of Juventus and AC Milan who have also been linked with the young star, with the player thought to be available for a fee in excess of £25m (AU$46m).
WENGER WANTS WILSHERE TO STAY
Arsenal’s Jack Wilshere has been linked with a move away from the club after failing to agree a contract extension to date, but according to Arsene Wenger he should stick around.
The Gunners were believed to have offered the England international a decreased wage package on account of his injury history, but the recently rejuvenated star has held off penning the deal.
Everton, West Ham and a range of European clubs are all reportedly keen on signing the midfielder, although Wenger has made retaining the 26-year-old a top priority.
“I can only reassure him that I want him to stay,” Wenger said.
“We make him a proposal, after that you have to accept Jack is at an age where he will have offers from somewhere else.
“Personally I put my weight in for him to stay and push him to stay.
“I think he’s an Arsenal man. AC Milan manager Gennaro Gattuso said the other day he has the technique of a Spanish player and the character of an English player.
“I think it’s well judged. That’s why you want him to stay at the club.
TUCHEL PREFERS BAYERN
Ex-Borussia Dortmund manager Thomas Tuchel is reportedly keen to take up the managers role at Bayern Munich according to Sky Sports, the revelation comes amid reports the German was interested in becoming Wenger’s successor at Arsenal.
Bayern are looking for a new manager to take over from Jupp Heynckes in the summer, with the boss stepping down.
Tuchel left Dortmund in May and has been waiting for the right opportunity to emerge.
German reports stated the coach had turned down Bayern for Arsenal, but according to Sky Sports that isn’t the case.
