MESSI STORMS OUT
Argentina slumped to an embarrassing 6-1 defeat at the hands of Spain in the pair’s friendly, and footage emerged to show Lionel Messi wasn’t particularly pleased about it.
As Isco completed his hat trick and nabbed Spain’s sixth, the Barcelona star had seen enough, leaving his seat and heading for the exit at the Wanda Metropolitano.
The attacker was watching on from the stands, after a hamstring injury sidelined him for the clash.
POGBA’S GOAL DEDICATION
Paul Pogba arrested a poor run of form with a vintage display in France’s international friendly with Russia, paying tribute to his late father in the process.
The Manchester United midfielder, who had been limited to a substitute role in the weekend’s clash with Colombia, was restored to the starting line-up and marked the occasion with a goal and an assist in a classy showing.
After finding the net with a stunning freekick, Pogba lifted his shirt to reveal a white undershirt with a message on it – ‘Joyeux anniversaire Papa, Allah y Hramou.’
Or, in English, ‘Happy birthday Dad, May Allah give him mercy.’
The star revealed the message and pointed to the skies following his first goal for his country since November 2016.
Pogba’s father Fassou Antoine passed away in May, and would have been celebrating his 80th birthday on the day of the match.
TUNISIA FANS GO NUTS
Tunisia fans have gone wild in celebration… after beating Costa Rica 1-0 in a friendly.
The clash in Nice was decided by a goal from ex-Sunderland man Wahbi Kahzri, and as the match came to an end, the North African side’s fans stormed the field and destroyed the goals!
Supporters climbed on the uprights and pulled down the nets at the Allianz Riviera Stadium while other fans proudly held up their flags and picked up the corner flags as flare lit up the ground.
The way they were celebrating you’d think they’d already won the World Cup!
Tunisia will take on England, Belgium and Panama in the group stage in Russia.
WALES STARS BANNED FROM GOLF
Ryan Giggs has only been Wales boss for a matter of weeks, but he’s already making his mark on the squad.
The Manchester United legend has reportedly banned his stars, including Gareth Bale, from playing golf in Chine due to injury concerns, according to the Daily Mail.
Bale is a massive fan of the game, and even has replicas of famous golf holes in his back yard, and was ready to play a round with teammates on a rest day in Nanning.
But the manager has blocked the activity in lieu of a less physically demanding past time, with tablee tennis and card game Uno both offered as alternatives.
