THIS is how the grid will look when those five red lights go out to start the 2018 Formula 1 Rolex Australian Grand Prix.

Lewis Hamilton broke Ayrton Senna’s longstanding record of six pole positions in the Australian GP with a stunning lap that put him almost seven tenths clear of his nearest rival.

That honour went to Ferrari’s Kimi Raikkonen, who edged out teammate Sebastian Vettel to join the reigning world champion on the front row.

Sergio Perez claimed on Thursday that Racing Point have started to hide information from him since it was announced that he is being replaced next season by Sebastian Vettel.

The popular Mexican driver told a virtual news conference ahead of this weekend’s Russian Grand Prix that he was disappointed with the way things have unfolded in his seventh season with the Silverstone based outfit.

“Since the news came out, some people inside the team tend to hide things, which I don’t think is great,” he said.

V8 Supercars 2020, The Bend SuperSprint, preview, schedule: Drivers expect carnage

Published

on

Drivers are expecting The Bend’s West Circuit to generate plenty of entertainment when the 3.41km layout makes its Supercars debut this weekend.

The key change from the usual International Circuit is the omission of the back loop featuring multiple fast right-hand corners. Instead, the new Turn 6 will become a sharp hairpin, linking more directly to the final five corners.

The change should make the The Bend SuperSprint a very different challenge for drivers and engineers alike.
