Socceroos v Norway reaction, Bert van Marwijk, Mile Jedinak

Published

on

SOCCEROOS captain Mile Jedinak put his hand up after the side’s limp outing in Oslo, with both coach and skipper gutted by the side’s debut under Bert van Marwijk.

Jedinak admitted he “didn’t lead enough” as things got difficult in the middle of the park, an area van Marwijk was disappointed his side didn’t control.

“It’s just disappointing,” Jedinak told Fox Sports. We wanted to start on a positive note. We did that, in the game, but from there didn’t do what was required of us.

“I didn’t lead them enough I don’t think, and I think we conceded a few soft goals from what we’ve been taught, and even what we’ve been coached this week.

Published

Manchester United has only signed one player this transfer window, while top-four rivals like Chelsea have splashed the cash and even defending champions Liverpool have bagged a couple of star arrivals.

But there’s a key reason more players haven’t walked in through the doors at Old Trafford: the club can’t get rid of the ones it doesn’t want.

Even so, United are closing in on one extremely talented Brazilian arrival. But it’s bad news for West Ham, whose owner is ‘depressed’ over their transfer woes.

All that and more in the latest Premier League Rumour Mill!

A-League, transfers, Melbourne City, Perth Glory, news, Andrew Nabbout, Socceroos

An already dramatic A-League transfer window has taken another turn, with fringe Socceroo Andrew Nabbout joining Melbourne City from Melbourne Victory.

It represents the second time in a week that a player who was set to join Perth Glory has backflipped on their decision due to difficulties with the move to Western Australia – largely due to state border restrictions and pay negotiation problems.

The first was Nathaniel Atkinson, the 21-year-old Melbourne City fullback deciding to remain at City and re-signing for a further two seasons.

Published

on

Atletico Madrid announced the signing of Barcelona forward Luis Suarez on Thursday (AEST), confirming the Uruguayan striker is set to continue playing in Spain rather than joining Juventus in Italy.

Barcelona said that Atletico had agreed to pay six million euros ($A10 million) for Suarez, who left his last training session in tears having been told over the summer that he was no longer required by new coach Ronald Koeman.

Since joining Barca from Liverpool in 2014, Suarez has won a host of trophies, including the 2015 Champions League and four Liga titles.
