MATS Hummels accused his Bayern Munich team-mate Robert Lewandowski of an ‘attitude’ problem in a training ground bust-up on Wednesday, according to reports.

Bayern are 19 points clear in the Bundesliga table, but tensions often run high in the star-studded squad for starting places.

Temperatures in Munich were well below freezing at Bayern’s Saebener Strasse training ground during the angry exchange.

According to German daily Bild, who have a reporter at Bayern training sessions, Hummels and Lewandowski traded insults in a practise game.

A match official in the December Champions League game between Paris Saint-Germain and Istanbul Basaksehir that was suspended after allegations of racism has been banned for the rest of the season for “inappropriate behaviour”, UEFA announced on Monday.

Sebastian Coltescu, from Romania, was banned from carrying out “any referee’s function until the end of the 2020/21 season, i.e. until 30 June 2021” but was not found to have breached UEFA articles covering racism and other discriminatory conduct.

The group-stage game was stopped in the 14th minute, after a furious touchline argument erupted over accusations Coltescu, who was the fourth official, had described Basaksehir’s Cameroonian assistant coach Pierre Webo as “black”, or “negru” in Romanian.

Coltescu was picked up on microphones in a crowd-less stadium telling a fellow official: “The black one over there. This is not possible. Go and identify him. That guy, the black one.”

Former Premier League star Demba Ba led players from both teams in walking off the pitch in protest.

“When you mention a white guy, you never say ‘this white guy’, you just say ‘this guy’, so why when you mention a black guy do you say ‘this black guy?’,” he was heard saying to the official.

PSG player Presnel Kimpembe was picked up by cameras saying: “What? What? Is he serious? We are heading in. We are heading in. That is it. We are heading in.”

Istanbul Basaksehir’s Mehmet Topal was heard saying “this is not football” as he left the field.

Coltescu was also ordered to attend an educational program along with assistant referee Octavian Sovre. The latter avoided a ban but did receive a reprimand for inappropriate behaviour.

The match restarted 24 hours later with players taking a knee and wearing anti-racism T-shirts before PSG won 5-1. The entire Romanian team of officials was replaced for the restarted game by a new refereeing team.

In its statement on Monday, European football’s governing body said that “officials should be adequately and specifically trained to make better decisions on the choice of language and words to be used in UEFA competitions”.

It added: “In the international context, correct use of language is essential to avoid situations such as those that occurred in the above-mentioned match.”

Webo had been shown a red card before the incident erupted and was given a one-match suspension for unsporting conduct.

UEFA said his sending-off occurred before the incidents: “and was therefore not provoked by them”.
