SPURS, GUNNERS SET TO FACE OFF FOR WONDERKID
Arsenal and Tottenham look set to compete for Malcom in the summer, with the winger confirming he plans to leave Bordeaux at the end of the season.
Both North London clubs had been linked to the Brazilian youngster in the January transfer window, but according to The Sun, were put off by Bordeaux’s £45 million (AU$79m) valuation at the time.
Now, Malcom has spoken out about his future at the club.
“I will choose the team, and Bordeaux will let me go,” he said.
“I already said that I would have liked to leave this winter to meet new challenges.
“But I must also remember that Bordeaux helped me a lot.
“I gave my word to Bordeaux that I will continue (with the club) to be able to have more time to choose my future club.
“These next three or four months will make a big difference.”
Malcom has scored eight times across 25 appearances in all competitions for Bordeaux this season.
The 20-year-old has yet to represent Brazil’s senior team, but has been capped at both U23 and U20 level.
REDS STAR SET FOR PAYRISE
Liverpool is set to reward forward Sadio Mane with an improved and extended contract, according to reports.
Mane is currently contracted until 2021, but Liverpool are looking to recognise him for his stunning form since joining the club in 2016.
While Mane has spent time out on the left since Salah’s arrival — and hasn’t scored as many goals as last season — he’s still stepped up at crucial times.
That included scoring against Manchester City, along with a hat-trick in the Reds’ 5-0 Champions League rout of Porto.
The news outlet reports the Reds are also keen to improve Firmino’s contract.
The Brazilian has two years left on his current deal.
CURIOUS CONTRACT CLAUSE MAKES MBAPPE’S PSG SWITCH OFFICIAL
Kylian Mbappe’s switch to Paris Saint-Germain will become official in the summer, after an interesting clause in his contract was activated.
In beating Strasbourg 5-2 on Saturday, PSG became mathematically safe from relegation.
PSG will now be required to fork out their full £166 million (AU$294m) for Mbappe’s services.
According to the report, Mbappe will sign a four-year deal in June, that will see him contracted to the French powerhouse until 2022.
PSG now holds a 12-point lead at the top of Ligue 1, with the club 42 points clear of the relegation zone with just 12 games left.
As for Mbappe, the teenager has scored 15 goals and provided 14 assists across 32 appearances in all competitions.
PSG PREPARE TO POUNCE ON UNITED DEFENDER
Jose Mourinho is growing frustrated with Manchester United’s failure to lock in defender Marcos Rojo as Paris Saint-Germain circle, according to reports.
The Sun reports Mourinho is keen to lock down Rojo’s future at Old Trafford, but contract talks have stalled.
The Argentine defender is contracted until 2019 and recently made a return from a long-term knee injury.
But while his United future remains clouded, the report says PSG are eyeing a £30 million (AU$53m) swoop for the defender in the summer.
