Supercars 2018: Mark Winterbottom Bottle-O Ford livery at Tickford, pictures, photos, gallery

THE covers are off Mark Winterbottom’s challenger for the 2018 Supercars season, his third with the colours of The Bottle-O on his Tickford Racing Ford.

As seen with the team’s past liveries, Winterbottom’s No. 5 Ford shares the same base design as teammate Chaz Mostert’s No. 55 car, the ‘triple slashes’ on the front guard a nod to the Tickford logo.

“I think the car looks sharp,” Winterbottom said. “The aggressive lines and variance of colour make it a bit different than the last couple of years, but it retains that classic green of The Bottle-O, so you’ll definitely know who’s coming whether you’re a fan in the stands or a competitor on the track.”

F1 qualifying results 2020, Portuguese Grand Prix, news, Daniel Ricciardo, crash, spin, video, starting grid, latest

Daniel Ricciardo was left frustrated during qualifying for the Portuguese Grand Prix as he was unable to compete in Q3 after spinning into the gravel during Q2.

Ricciardo lost the car at Turn 11 on his final run in Q2, sliding backwards through the gravel and into the barrier, leaving damage to his rear win.

And although he managed to return to the pits, his Renault team agonisingly missed out on repairing his car in time to set a lap in Q3.

That means the Australian was restricted to starting Sunday night’s (AEDT) race in P10, just ahead of his teammate Esteban Ocon in P11.

Lewis Hamilton claimed a thrilling last-gasp pole position on Saturday to give him the perfect launchpad for his bid to win a record 92nd Formula One race in Sunday’s Portuguese Grand Prix.

In denying his Mercedes teammate Valtteri Bottas in the final seconds of qualifying, Hamilton moved to within three of his 100th career pole as his team claimed its 12th pole from as many races this season.

The six-time world champion, who had trailed the Finn in all three practice sessions and in the two opening parts of qualifying, reeled off a stunning best lap in one minute and 16.652 seconds at the new Algarve International Circuit.
