Manchester United midfielder Fred was fortunate to avoid a red card following a headbutt on Paris Saint Germain’s Leandro Paredes.
The Brazilian international was at the heart of a melee in the first half at Old Trafford.
There was a coming together between the pair with Fred clearly aiming a headbutt in the Argentinian’s direction.

While there wasn’t much contact, Paredes went down as if he had been shot.
Referee Daniele Orsato went to consult VAR, but after viewing the incident opted to only show Fred a yellow which left a host of pundits perplexed.
“I think we’re all in the dark with what the ref actually saw when he went over to the monitor,” said former England striker Chris Sutton on BBC Radio.
“I was 100 per cent certain he’d give a red card, I think most people watching this game would be asking what do you actually have to do to get sent off?
“It was a clear headbutt, his head motioned towards the PSG player. It’s a red card, simple as that.”
Socceroos legend Mark Schwarzer said on Optus Sport: “I don’t think anyone can believe it wasn’t a red card … I’m dumbfounded how the referee thought it was yellow.”
