The Australian side had to do it tough when, just three minutes into the match, goalkeeper Adam Pavlesic sustained a head knock and was replaced by Tom Heward-Belle.

The Sky Blues dominated the first half thanks to an Alex Wilkinson header and Brattan’s rocket fired in from 25m out.
The goal was the midfielder’s first for Sydney FC.

They continued their form after the break, with Trent Buhagiar sealing a double to end a run of 11 games without a win for the A-League champions.
“They played really well, dominated from start to finish, scored some excellent goals,” said manager Steve Corica.
“Maybe it could have ended up more, the final score. It showed how good a side we are with the ball. We played some really good stuff.”

Despite the victory on Tuesday, Corica’s side remain at the bottom of their group and are unable to qualify for the knockout stages.
The Sky Blues will return to Australia after Friday’s clash with Japanese side Yokohama F. Marinos on Friday afternoon.
