THIRD-tier club Wigan Athletic ended Manchester City’s bid for an unprecedented quadruple with a stunning 1-0 FA Cup fifth-round win over Pep Guardiola’s side on Tuesday morning (AEDT).

City manager Guardiola was left incensed as right-back Fabian Delph was given a straight red card on the stroke of half-time, before Wigan striker Will Grigg sent the DW Stadium into raptures with a 79th-minute winner.

A famous night was marred, however, by a post-match pitch invasion by Wigan supporters which saw a number of them confront City players, with striker Sergio Aguero required to defend himself.
