FORMER Brisbane Roar star Henrique will train with the three-time A-League champions for the rest of the season in the hope of earning a contract for the club’s 2018-19 campaign.

Without a club after a financial problem led to him leaving Thai outfit Jumpasri United, the Brazilian-Australian livewire jumped at the chance to take part in Roar training when invited by Brisbane coach John Aloisi.

It led to suspicion that the club might be entertaining the thought of adding the 32-year-old attacking weapon to their squad for the rest of the season, despite Aloisi recently suggesting that wasn’t an option.

However, Roar managing director David Pourre reiterated on Tuesday that Henrique would not be signing with the club this season.

But the door has again been left open for the three-time championship-winner to rejoin the Roar next season.
