WE’VE all been there. We’ve all woken up the next morning and looked at our bank account, wondering what we actually did the night before.
One Nashville Predators fan had quite the evening, racking up a $AUD1500 bar tab during Game Three of the Stanley Cup finals, at an establishment called “Rippy’s Ribs”.
David Hudson was the man responsible for the epic booze bender, and he and his friends made quite the impression on the beer stocks. Their party of eight averaged 18 beers per person.
It must have been some night, but the Nashville supporter not only remembers everything, he outlined exactly how he and his friends managed to run up such a bill.
“I flew in from Madison (Wisconsin) and I met a buddy that flew in from Brooklyn, New York. We both moved away from Nashville about 12 years ago, and we have remained loyal Predators fans,” Hudson told SB Nation.
“Even though we didn’t have tickets to the game, we wanted to be in Nashville for the first Stanley Cup Final. We met up with our buddies who still live in town. Wanting to watch the game in a bar downtown, we got to Rippy’s at 11am, and stayed until it ended.”
The incredible tab saw Hudson (and his mates) sink 93 Coors Lights, 10 Miller Lites, 10 Bud Lights, Patron shots and a heap of food.
The tab also shows an order of five drinks labelled “Bomb, Vegas, Vegas, Vegas, Vegas”, which sounds like something you’d only order after close to 100 beers.
When the screenshot of the ridiculous bar tab was shared online, most thought it was the work of a generous fan, who must have shouted the bar following the Predators’ victory. But Hudson revealed that wasn’t quite the case.
“We drank the majority,” Hudson said. “We got tagged (charged) with someone else’s Yazoo Pale Ale and Blue Moon. The Patron shots were shared with the table next to us. We never ordered a round for another group, but since we had been getting buckets of Coors Light, we were more than happy to share.”
The tab should be no surprise really, given Nashville hockey fans have been partying for some time. Their Predators are having quite the season, claiming its first ever Conference title since joining the NHL in 1998. The city is currently rocking as its team looks to claim its first ever NHL championship against the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Hudson and his friends may not be finished with their partying either.
The best of seven Stanley Cup final is currently locked at 2-2. The Predators claimed Game Three (5-1) and Game Four (4-1) comprehensively and are hitting form at the right time of year. Should Nashville lift the Stanley Cup, Hudson’s bar tab may have some competition.
Social media was impressed with the Nashville fans’ effort, but not exactly his choice of beverage.
